Golf Instruction

golf instruction

Everyone should use professional guidance regarding their golf game. The professionals at Pete Dye River Course of Virginia Tech have golf instruction programs geared to make your learning experience rewarding and enjoyable. The question we hear most is, "What kind of instruction is best for me?"

Individual Golf Instruction

Individual instruction is popular among all golfers, particularly with those who have been playing for at least a year or two and are trying to take their game to the next level. We can give one lesson or a series of five lessons. Each lesson lasts approximately 35-40 minutes. Instructional topics can involve basic fundamentals, full swing with woods or irons, chipping, putting and specialty shots, as well as club selection and course strategy.

Group Golf Clinic Instruction

Group golf instruction is a great choice for companies or organizations. Juniors and ladies often use group instruction programs and can really benefit from this type of learning experience. Taking lessons with others who have similar interests and skill levels can make learning more enjoyable and productive. A schedule for group instruction can be devised to suit each group's needs. The size of a group can number as small as four and as large as eight in a clinic setting. The clinic sessions generally last anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on the size of the group. We recommend five 90-minute sessions for each clinic group.

Instructional Rates Head PGA Professional Assistant
One 40 minute lesson $40 $30
One 5 lesson series $160 $120
Group clinics $100/person $80/person
