Robert P. "Bob" Asbury, Jr.

QUOTE: "The Pete Dye River Course of Virginia Tech is the most unique and beautiful golf course that I have been privileged to be a member of, or play. The design of the links along the New River is an amazing blend of creative golf course architecture that is enhanced by the indescribable beauty of the New River and the surrounding mountains. The club staff... Jay, John, James, Ann, Mark... and the maintenance and volunteer groups are the best all time cadre of people that I have ever known to be involved with the operation of any golf course (public or private). These people know golf as a recreational pursuit and a hospitality business. The new club house will be the final touch that makes "The River" the golfing destination of the Mid-Atlantic states."
